The Glory of God

Nature never taught me that there exists a God of glory and of infinite majesty. I had to learn that in other ways. But nature gave the word glory a meaning for me.
C. S. Lewis in The Four Loves

Glory is the manifestation of all the attributes of God. The Westminster Confession asserts that "man's chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever". What does this mean? To glorify God is to live in such a way that God is pleased, that He is honored, and that He is known.

To do this - I must live intentionally. I need to aim at the target of pleasing God and desire to make Him known. This will be a bright light shining on a dark land. It will be a lamp to a dark soul.

Lord, please allow me to live this way. I need your power to do so.

I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Gal. 2:20
